ADB sanctions USD 1,60,000 to Mizoram
Aizawl, Apr 9 (UNI) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned a structural adjustment loan of USD 1,60,000 for project preparatory technical assistance for Mizoram.
Official sources said here today that five consultants will come to the state to participate in the final workshop which is expected to conclude here in Aizawl by June this year.
A discussion on the matter was held here today by officials at agriculture department conference room.
The meeting, presided over by state finance secretary Lalmalsawma, was attended by principal economist Bruno Carrasco and Hiranya Mukhapadhyay from the bank and other high officials of the state government from the finance, taxation, land revenue and settlement, transport, school education, PHE, social welfare, trade and commerce and industries departments.
The two ADB officials would be leaving tomorrow while the consultants will remain here to start the project, official sources added.
Further, the state government will receive USD 150 million of structural adjustment loans from the ADB to undertake various development programmes.
