People protest as food prices in India rise higher
Varanasi, April 6, 2008 : Even as the Indian government is trying to tackle the problem of price rise, thousands of locals take to the streets in Varanasi protesting against the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities. People accused UPA govt. of failing to combat the inflationary trends in the economy.
They pointed out that the prices of necessities are going through the roof and the government is not taking any short term measures to ease the common man of the burden.
