Afghan girl braves tradition to compete in Olympics

Kabul, Apr 8, 2008 : As a young girl living under hardline Islamist Taliban rule who could only run around the small courtyard of her house in the Afghan capital.

Today, she is training to race in the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. Mahboba Ahdyar is the only woman among four other Afghans who will represent the war-torn country at the Olympics later this year.
