TTD launches ambulance services in Tirumala

Tirumala, Apr 8 (UNI) Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI), in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government and Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) has launched 108 Emergency Response Service here.

Launching the ambulance service, TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy here on the occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year day yesterday, said the services would be a boon to the needy pilgrims visiting the hill shrine.

TTD Executive Officer K V Ramanachary said the free ambulance service would benefit pilgrims, particularly those who prefer to walk up the hills to reach the abode of lord Venkateshawara at Tirumala.

As part of the service, one ambulance would be stationed at Mokala Mettu and the another at Tirumala, he added.
