Sonia, Rahul favour youth contesting in K'taka polls
Bangalore, Apr 8 (UNI) AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi are in favour of giving more opportunities to the youth and this may reflect in the issuance of tickets to the condidates for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, State Youth Congress President Krishna Byre Gowda said today.
Speaking to mediapersons, after being conferred Honorary Diploma on Eminent Personalities by IMAC here, he said, ''with Ms Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi giving clearance to the request to consider issuing tickets to more number of youth, I am confident of the youth getting their due share,'' he added.
Replying to a question, he said, ''The per centage of seats reserved for youth is not important, but winning chances should be taken into consideration. Senior leaders are also in favour of giving more ticket to youth.'' Mr Gowda said Ms Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi would be campaigning in Karnataka during the election.
