Rural Water Supply Dept should fulfill assurances: CM
Hyderabad, Apr 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the Rural Water Supply Department should ensure that all his assurances are fulfilled, and schemes on which foundation stones have been laid are completed priority-wise. Addressing officials of the department here, Dr Reddy said any additional funds towards this, other than already allotted in the Budget, would be released after consulting with the Finance Department. He was informed that the Chief Minister's assurances projects itself would require Rs 622 crore, including Rs 300 crore for Devadula project.
Dr Reddy told the officials to complete the Devadula project in three phases.
Directing the officials to give priority to Centrally-aided schemes and projects so that the Central aid could be fully utilised by the state, he said, the state's share for these schemes would be released as needed. He asked the officials to complete all the flouride removal projects.
When the department sought more funds for Indiramma and other schemes, the Chief Minister assured to provide necessary funds on priority basis in consultation with the Finance Department.
