Reference rate at Rs 40.02 per USD

Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India today fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at Rs 40.02, up 9 paise from its yesterday's rate of Rs 39.93 per USD.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee was quoted at Rs 79.4437 (79.3469) per Pound and Rs 39.10 (38.95) per 100 unit respectively, an RBI release said.
