Prize money will be enhanced from next year: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 8 (UNI) The Kerala Government has decided to enhance the prize money for film awards from next year, Cultural Minister M A Baby said today.

Announcing the state film award-2007 here, he said the government had decided to enhance the prize money for the winners in the state film awards. However, the amount had not yet been decided and a decision in this regard would be taken after discussions with all those concerned in the field of entertainment, he added.

The government had also decided to rename the award for second best actor and actress as 'best supporting actor and actress', following a suggestion by the jury.
