Pravin Chheda elected BEST Committee Chairman

Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) Pravin Chheda, a BJP Corporator, was elected the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply Transport (BEST) Committee Chairman here today.

Mr Chheda, who received nine votes, defeated Bhavna Koli of Congress, who secured seven votes. Samajwadi Party Corporator Mohsin Haider remained absent.

Mr Chheda said his priorities will include starting a hospital for the employees of the undertaking, and giving ownership status to the employees living in BEST quarters.

''I never dreamt of being in this position and am very happy to be here,'' he said.

Mr Chheda showed reporters BEST bus tickets of denomination 20 and 30 Paise, which he had collected as a school boy.
