Kadam, Munde launch scathing attack on R R Patil

Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) Leader of the opposition Ramdas Kadam and senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde today launched a scathing attack on the home department and particularly on Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, saying that Maharashtra is turning into another Bihar with the rise in political murders.

Mr Kadam alleged that encounter specialist PI Pradeep Sharma was working for underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and has properties worth Rs 5000 crore.

Initiating the discussion on the home department, Mr Kadam, himself a former minister of state for home, alleged that Sharma has got into partnership with Ajmera Builders and Night Lovers Bar in Andheri.

Mr Kadam said that one rape is being reported in every six hours, while one murder in every three hours in the state, which is closely following Bihar in the crime rate.

He said a press note based on wrong facts that Chetan Kamble, who had filed a PIL in Sahar land case, had raped his mother was circulated.

Senior BJP leader and former home minister Gopinath Munde wondered when the government would take action against M F Hussain, who had allegedly painted many nude pictures of Hindu goddesses. Mr Munde's speech was full of potshots at the Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Chief Minister and about rumours of possible removal of Mr Deshmukh.

He said 25 political murders have taken place in the state and cited the example of Ankush landge, a corporator from Pune who was done to death.

''I have also received a threat letter,'' Mr Munde said.
