Journalist missing in Allahabad: Police depute special teams

Allahabad, Apr 8 (UNI) A senior journalist of a Hindi daily here has been missing since Saturday night.

Shyamendra Kushwaha, a resident of Purana Katra, working in Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, left his office after getting a call on his mobile late Saturday night.

When he neither reached office nor home, his colleagues became concerned and started to search for him. His mobile was switched off.

Police officers including IG zone, DIG and SSP reached the spot and registered a case of kidnapping against unidentified persons and deputed special teams to trace Kushwaha.

Local journalists under the banner of the Allahabad News reporters Club yesterday handed over a memorandum to Divisional Commissioner P K Jha, demanding that Kushwaha be traced.
