CPI to protest against price hike in UP

Lucknow, Apr 8 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) today announced to launch a state-wide agitation on April 17 against sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities.

Workers of 20 western UP districts will take part in 'sansad march' at New Delhi, whereas other party workers will stage demonstrations in their respective districts,'' CPI assistant secretary Dr Girish said.

Criticising the UPA government, Dr Girish said the Centre had totally failed to check inflation, due to which the general public is posed with hardship.

The Uttar Pradesh government too is busy criticising the Centre instead of eking out ways to overcome the problem, he added.

Unseasonal rainfall that lashed the entire state last week had caused a lot of damage to crops, but the government was busy hidding the massive loss instead of helping farmers at the time of crises.
