Composite metals, energy, agro-commodities index drops

Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) The composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities fell 3271.44 points at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Gold June 08 contract shrank 0.35 per cent at Rs 11,909 per 10 grams, while silver July 08 contract fell 1.01 per cent at Rs 23,481 per kg.

Nickel May 08 contract dropped 0.99 per cent at Rs 1152.50 per kg, and zinc June 08 contract fell 0.67 per cent at Rs 97.05 per kg.

There was no change in CFI contracts. Crude oil May 08 contract was down 0.09 per cent at Rs 4,307 per barrel.

Ref soyoil, chana, sugarsklp, kapaskhali contracts looked southwards. Ref soyoil June 08 contract shed 0.23 per cent at Rs 545.45 per 10 kg.

Cardamom April 08 contract topped the list of gainers with a rise of 2.03 per cent at Rs 653.50 per kg, an MCX release here said.
