CBI requests for trial of former RAW official
New Delhi Apr 8 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation today filed an application in a Delhi court for conducting a trial of former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) official Major General V K Singh.
Earlier, CBI had registered a case against Singh under section 5 of the Official Secrects Act for allegedly criticising the functioning of RAW and Special Protection Group (SPG) in his book, India's External Intelligence: Secrets of RAW.
Singh had also written about the case of Ravinder Singh, a former RAW official who is believed to fled to the US, and purchase of sub-standard communication equipment by the SPG.

The court reserved its order for April 17 for conducting in-camera trial of the proceedings.
Singh also filed a petition for an anticipatory bail.
