2 crushed to death under train

Dahod, Gujarat, Apr 8 (UNI) Two persons were crushed to death under a goods trains when they jumped out of the Rajkot-Bhopal Express following a fire alarm in the coach early today.

The deceased were crushed to death under the goods trains which was approaching from the opposite direction on the adjacent track.

Four others were injured in the accident which occurred between Ananth and Meghnagar railway stations about 0100 hours.

Passengers in the general coach of the Rajkot-Bhopal Express noticed sparks from a minor short circuit and raised an alarm when the train was near the Meghnagar station in Ratlam Division of Madhya Pradesh.

On hearing the alarm, a few passengers who were standing near the entrance of the coach, jumped out of the running train and were hit by the goods train according to official sources.

One of the victims was killed on the spot while the other died while being treated at a hospital in Ratlam.
