Ramadoss walks to focus on protecting health from climate change

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss and Environment and Forest Minister Namo Narain Meena today planted trees and participated in a 'Health Run' to mark the World Health Day.

The event was organised by WHO to commemorate the 60th anniversary of its foundation and to promote themes of 'Protecting Health from Climate Change' and 'Our Health and Our Future.' A mass awareness campaign was organised in which students from schools, NGOs, resident welfare associations, scouts and guides, NCC, red cross, educational institutions, police and defence service personnel participated.

A number of cultural shows involving folk dance and band display was held and participants pledged to protect the environment.

Today's event was the culmination of a month long programme to create awareness about the harmful impact of global warming on the health of the people.
