Police burst teargas to quell mob violence
Mysore, Apr 07(UNI) Police burst teargas shells and resorted to lathi charge to dispurse two groups indulged in clashes over the issue of entry into a temple at Jakkanahalli village near Srirangapatna in Mandya district this morning Police sources said that the incident occurred when people belonging one particular community tried to enter into a temple which was opposed by the people of another community resulting into a group clash.
When appeal to disburse from the scene did not yield any results the police resorted to mild lathicharge besides lobbing tear gas over the mob and brought the situation under control.
Additional police forces have been rushed to the village which is still tense the sources added.
