PDP announces PAC to slect candidates for J
Srinagar, Apr 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a partner in the coalition government in the state, has announced that the party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) would also serve as the PDP Parliamentary Board for the upcoming assembly elections.
The Parliamentary Board has been entrusted with the job of selecting candidates for the assembly elections, a spokesman of the PDP said.
He said in this connection, the board would hold its first meeting here on May 3 2008.
Besides Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, other members of the Parliamentary Board are Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Abdul Aziz Zargar, Tariq Hameed Karra, Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Sardar Rangil Singh, Qazi Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Dillawar Mir, Ved Mahajan, Master Tassaduq Hussain, Sardar T S Bajwa and Nissar Ahmad Khan.
Election to assembly is due later this year when the present house completes its six year term.
