Guinness attempt by tabla player

Kozhikode, Apr 7: In an attempt to gain an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records, a tabla player here completed 103 hours of continuous performance here today.

Tabla player Sudheer Kadalundi, who began his marthon performance at 1001 hrs on April 2, completed the rare feat at 0208 hrs today.

With this, he has broken the previous 102-hour record of Jagjit Singh Pattalvi, a native of Punjab, set on October eight, 2007 in Canada.

Visuals of the programme, recorded as per the Guinness norms, would be sent to them soon, event organisers said.

Hundreds of people, including Sudheer's friends and relatives, gathered at the venue in Kadalundi, near here, to witness the programme.
