Central team to submit report on rain damage
Tiruchirapalli, Apr 7 (UNI) The four-member Central team led by Union Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary Devendra Sharma, which is currently touring the recent unseasonal rain affected areas of Tamil Nadu to assess the damages, will submit its report to the Centre as early as possible.
Mr Sharma and his team completed an on the spot study at Thanjavur and held discussions with Tiruchirapalli district Collector T Soundiah and others about the total damages in the district.
Later, he told newspersons that they had so far visited the districts of Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Thanjavur and would visit Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Virudunagar and Ramanathapuram today and tomorrow.
They will also hold a top level officials' review meeting at Chennai on Wednesday. Thereafter, they will file a detailed report to the Centre.
Later, the team accompanied by Tamil Nadu Government Revenue Department Special Commissioner Shaktikandadas left for Tuticorin by a helicopter.
