Kumarakom, Apr 6: Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers and Steel Ram Vilas Paswan today emphasised the need for using simple and understandable words of Hindi in order to popularise its use.
The minister was addressing a meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers here yesterday. Highlighting the progressive use of Hindi, the minister emphasised on the fact that both the departments of the ministry and the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), offices, Institutes and cooperative society should ensure optimum use of the Hindi in their day-to-day official work. ''In order to popularise the use of Hindi, use simple and understandable words of Hindi,'' Mr Paswan said and urged the senior officers to use Hindi on files while writing notes and added they should inspire and motivate others in this direction.
MPs, Professors, eminent journalists, critics and representatives of voluntary Hindi organisations also attended the meeting. The minister distributed shields and trophies for excellent work for the year 2006-07 to the PSUs and offices of the ministry for promoting the use of Hindi judiciously.
