Report: Beyonce, Jay-Z tie the knot

Washington, April 6 : Beyonce Knowles finally tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Jay-Z on April 4, according to a friend of the couple.

Although there is no official confirmation, but the friend says that the wedding has taken place.

"It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair - close friends and family," People quoted the friend, as saying.

Following the wedding, there was a lavish party at the rapper's Tribeca apartment, which was full of the couple's nearest ones.

Attendees included Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, her Destiny's Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple's friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

There was a swirl of activity on April 4 at the rap mogul's Tribeca apartment, the friend said.

A white tent was set up on the roof and delivery trucks funnelled in and out of the building, dropping off silver candelabras and white flowers.

Rumours of the wedding began circulating when the couple went to get a marriage license at a village hall in Scarsdale, N.Y., on April 1.
