Lalu flags-off 'Garib Rath' train b/w Jammu-Kathgodam

Jammu, Apr 6 : Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday flagged off 'Garib Rath' train between Jammu and Kathgodam.

He also laid the foundation stone for the electrification of the Jammu and Suchi Pind section. Prior to the inaugural function, the Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz said the two events, linked with the expansion of railway network in Jammu and Kashmir, would constitute a major stride towards improvement and augmentation of railway and communication services in the state and its connectivity with the rest of the country.

The survey work between Jammu and Poonch sector is currently undertaken by the Railways Ministry.

After the completion of the Jammu-Katra and Udhampur-Qazigund sectors, the Kashmir valley will be connected with the rest of the country through the railway network.
