Jyotiraditya, Prasada among probable ministerial candidates
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) The names of young Congress MPs Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitin Prasada figure prominently in the list of probable ministerial candidates in the expansion of the Union Cabinet which will take place this evening.
Senior Congress leaders V Narayanaswamy and Santosh Bagrodia are also likely to be inducted to represent Puducherry and Rajasthan.
Both the leaders are Rajya Sabha members.
Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi is to get additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs, which is being held at present by Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi.
Mr Dasmunsi will probably be divested of the Parliamentary Affairs protfolio to minimise his burden to allow him to concentrate on party affairs in West Bengal. He was recently appointed as the President of the West Bengal unit of the Congress.
Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh may be elevated to the Cabinet rank and given an important portfolio.
There were reports that the young MP Sachin Pilot was considered for induction, but was dropped at the last moment to accommodate Mr Bagrodia. Both Mr Pilot and Mr Bagrodia are from Rajasthan.
