Ansari arrives in Kazakhstan

Astana, Kazakhstan, Apr 6 (UNI) Visiting Vice-President Hamid Ansari arrived here this evening from Turkmenistan on the second leg of his two-nation tour to explore further cooperation in energy sector and expand economic and commercial ties to take bilateral relations to new heights.

He was received at the Astana airport by senior functionaries of Kazakhstan and Indian diplomats.

Mr Ansari had a fruitful discussion in Turkmenistan on intensification of cooperation in the oil and natural gas sector.

India and Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which would enable Indian companies to set up joint ventures in upstream and down stream areas.

The Vice President is accompanied by Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed and senior officials of various ministries.
