5 Congressmen injured in clash with TRS workers
Karim Nagar, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 6 (UNI) Five Congressmen were injured when the Congress and TRS activists clashed at the venue of a foundation laying ceremony at Vemulawada in the district in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Roads and Building Minister T Jeevan Reddy today.
Police said the trouble started when the TRS staged a dharna at the venue where the minister was laying the foundation stone for a by-pass road and demanded that the minister announce his stand on the formation of Telangana state.
Irate Congress workers started to argue with the TRS activists which turned violent and both party workers threw chairs at each other.
Five Congress activists received minor injuries and were immediately admitted to a private hospital here. However, none was arrested, police added.
