Naxalites shot dead landlord in Orissa

Malkangiri, Apr 5 (UNI) Armed Naxalites shot dead a landlord in Kirtanpali village, about 70 kms from here, early today.

Police said about 10 armed Naxalites arrived at the village and asked Sayam Lacha to come out of his house. As soon as Lacha came out, they shot him at close range, killing him on the spot and fled from the scene.

Soon after the incident, police and the Special Operation Group launched a combing operation in the area to nab them.

Sources said the naxalites suspected Lacha to be a police informer and so decided to eliminate him.
