Lovers jump into Yamuna, boy dies

Allahabad, Apr 5 (UNI) A boy drowned as he jumped into the river Yamuna in Naini area of the district along with his girlfriend today.

Even as the girl was saved, the boy was washed away by strong currents.

The incident occurred this afternoon, when Ashish Kumar Singh, a BA III year student at the CMP Degree College, jumped off the bridge into the river along with his lover.

The girl was admitted to the SRN medical college in a critical condition, police said.

Ashish was a resident of Manda, while the girl hailed from Hardoi.
