Jeeva contract workers union defers strike

Neyveli, Apr 5 (UNI) The Jeeva contract workers union of the AITUC of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) has deferred their strike with immediate effect.

A decision to this effect was taken at the administrative committee meeting of the AITUC held here this evening.

Accepting the announcement by Tamil Nadu Minister Arcot Veerasamy in the Legislative Assembly that talks would be held with Union Minister for state for Coal and Mines Dasari Narayana Rao to sort out the problems of the contract workers, the union decided to defer their strike temporarily and would join duty tomorrow.
