J and K Highway blocked due to landslides

Srinagar, April 5 : The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was blocked on Saturday for vehicular traffic due to landslides following heavy rain.

According to official sources, there has been heavy rain since last night, which triggered landslides at Panthial, 170 kilometres from Jammu, this afternoon.

The traffic authorities have stopped the vehicular movement from both sides at Panthial till clearance of the landslides, they said.

Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel and machines have also been called to clear the passage and ease the Highway traffic.
