Governor, CM extend 'Gudhi Padwa' greetings
Mumbai, Apr 5 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Gudhi Padwa.
''Gudhi Padwa marks the beginning of the New Year and the onset of spring. In India, where a large number of people continue to depend on agriculture for livelihood, the day has special significance in rural as well as urban areas,'' both said in a message.
''On the auspicious occasion of Gudhi Padwa, I wish the people a very happy New Year. May the festival and the New Year bring happiness and prosperity to all the people of the state,'' the Governor said.
