Goa Governor, CM extend Gudi Padwa greetings

Panaji, Apr 5 (UNI) Goa Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Digamber Kamat extended warm greetings to the people of Goa on the occasion of Gudi Padwa that marks the beginning of the New Year.

The Governor, in his message, said, ''Gudi Padwa heralds the dawn of the New Year, when the people renew their sentimental, social and spiritual values and rededicate themselves to work for a better and more fruitful and wholesome life in the society.'' The Chief Minister said the day symbolises victory of good forces over evil and also marks the beginning of the spring season. The day has utmost importance in social and spiritual world and is celebrated all over the country.

Let us, rededicate ourselves for the betterment of the society and strive to cherish the human values of peace and goodwill, the message added.
