K'kaka: EC to launch campaign for electoral list

Bangalore, Apr 5:The Election Commission (EC) has instructed all the district electoral officers in Karnataka, going to the polls in three phases from May 10, to launch a special campaign for inclusion of eligible names, omitted from the final list of electoral rolls published recently.

Speaking to newspersons here today, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N Gopalaswamy said the EC had asked the district electoral officers concerned to hold a special campaign.

Eventhough the final list of electoral rolls had been published, there was provision for the inclusion of names until the last date for filing of nominations. The EC had also instructed booth level officers to assess the list of Photo ID Cards issued by it, he said.
