Cong lambasts Maya for ''mass embezzlement'' of wealth
Siddharthnagar, Apr 5(UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Congress today lambasted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for ''following in the footsteps of Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo and erstwhile Chief Minitser Mulayam Singh Yadav by embezzling wealth.'' ''The truth will be known to all as soon as the CBI probe ordered by the Supreme Court into their disproportionate assets completes,'' UP Congress chief Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi said while addressing a poll gathering in Khalilabad parliamentary segment.
Terming the Mayawati government the biggest barrier in development path, Dr Joshi alleged UP was lagging in development parameters, as the Chief Minister is busy embezzling wealth. The current regime has contributed nothing towards the welfare of the state.
Castigating the BSP regime for failing to control inflation in the state, the Congress leader said the prices of essential commodities are rising persistently, because the UP government has utterly failed to arrest blackmarketing.
