CMPDI achieves highest drilling meterage: CMD

Ranchi, Apr 5 (UNI) Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited(CMPDI) Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Kumar Singh today said the company has achieved highest drilling meterage by drilling more than two lakh meters during the period 2007-08.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Singh said that it was an achievement for the company as the pervious highest meterage achieved was about 1.98 lakh meters.

Outlinig the other achievements, he said the company, which works for the Coal India Limited(CIL) had also obtained work orders valuing Rs 10.32 crores from 33 outside clients including SAIL, NTPC and TATA Steel.

Speaking on underground production projects, Mr Singh said that about 13 under grounds coal mines were identified, which can produce one metric tonnes per annum.

He said that company was also conferred with ''Indira Gandhi Koyla Udyog Rashtrikaran Netritwa Coal India Rajbhasah Samman''.
