Central team visits rain-hit areas in Malappuram

Malappuram, Kerala, Apr 5 (UNI) A three-member Central team, headed by joint secretary in the Home Department A K Yadav, today visited rain-ravaged Ponnani area in the district to assess the agriculture loss.

District Collector M C Mohan Das briefed the team about the problems faced by the farming community, following heavy damage to crops, official sources said.

The team also interacted with representatives of farmers and non-government organisations.

Later, the team left for neighbouring Thrissur district.
