Two police constables killed in road accident
Barrackpore, Apr 4 (UNI) Two police constables were killed when their motorcycle met with an accident on Jessore road at Madhyamgram early today.
Police said here today that the victims, Asit Baran Sarkar and Mridul Goswami, posted at Madhyamgram Investigation Centre, were travelling on a motorbike when a speeding truck struck them down.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortems and an investigation started, police added.
However, police were yet to trace the vehicles that had struck the constables.
In a seperate incident, police recovered the body of a 40-year old medicine trader of Rahara under Khardah police station from a gorge by the side of the Sodepur-Kalyani Expressway at Karnamadhabpur under Ghola police station in the district.
An investigation had been started and an unnatural death case registered while the body was sent for post-mortem, police added.
