WB: Bus accident on VIP road at Kestopur

Kolkata, Apr 4: Scores of people were injured when an overloaded private bus skidded off the road and fell into a nearby ditch at Kestopur on the busy VIP road near the city airport today, police said.

However, unconfirmed reports said some of the passengers were feared drowned in the mishap when the bus on route 217/B from here to Narayanpur overturned in the Kestopur sewerage canal. Two heavy cranes were deployed to salvage the bus which was carrying more than 50 commuters, a preliminary report said.
