Pakistan, Mauritius hold foreign secretary-level talks

Islamabad, Apr 4 (UNI) Pakistan and Mauritius have agreed to further bolster cooperation in trade, investment, political and commercial fields.

An agreement to the effect was reached during talks between Anand P Neewoor, Mauritian Foreign Secretary and his Pakistani counterpart Riaz Mohammad Khan in Islamabad, foreign ministry spokesman Muhammad Sadiq said.

The Mauritian Foreign Secretary is leading a delegation to the 7th Round of Pak-Mauritius Joint Working Group on Promotion of Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation.

The two Foreign Secretaries held in-depth discussions during the ongoing three-day talks, which concluded today.

The discussion covered all facets of existing bilateral relations including political, commercial and cultural ties and decided to further strengthen cooperation in these areas.

The two sides expressed satisfaction over the growing bilateral ties, especially in the field of trade and investment.

Mr Neewoor expressed the hope that the visit of Mauritian Prime Minister to Pakistan could take place later this year.

Mr Khan welcomed the Mauritian Foreign Secretary's suggestion and assured that a response in this regard shall be sent in due course.
