Metals, energy, agro-commodities composite index dips

Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) The composite index of metals, energy and agro-commodities fell to 2665.12 points at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Gold April 08 contract edged up by 0.58 per cent to Rs 11,718 per 10 grams. Silver contracts rose fractionally with bar silver November 08 contract improving by 1.37 per cent to Rs 23,606 per kg, an MCX release said here today.

The nickel June 08 contract rose 2.07 per cent to Rs 1,184 per kg and copper August 08 contract rose 0.72 per cent to Rs 340.60 per kg.

Crude oil April 08 contract rose 0.36 per cent to Rs 4,179 per barrel while crude oil May 08 contract was up 0.46 per cent at Rs 4,139 per barrel.

Turmeric, rubber, potato and jute contracts moved up. Turmeric June 08 contract gained 1.24 per cent at Rs 3,344 per quintal while rubber April 08 contract rose 2 per cent at Rs 10,299 per quintal.

Chana June 08 contract declined 1.35 per cent to Rs 2,774 per quintal, the release added.
