ICICI securities tops equity league table
Mumbai, Apr 4 (UNI) ICICI Securities Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ICICI Bank Limited and one of the leading Investment Bank in the country has topped the Prime Database Investment Bankers Equity League Table for capital raised through IPOs/ FPOs in fiscal 2008.
ICICI Securities was involved in the raising of about Rs 38,33,141 lakhs in the form of capital by various companies through fifteen public issues during fiscal 2008. This represents about 73 per cent share of the total funds raised through IPOs/FPOs in fiscal 2008, ICICI securities said here in a release today, quoting the Prime Database.
Company Managing Director and CEO S Mukherji said in the release that ICICI Securities has been active in Indian capital markets having been involved in many book - built public equity issuances.
''We have sought to establish a position as the leading underwriter of Indian equity offerings by leveraging our distribution capabilities and execution skills,'' he added.
Through its retail broking and distribution business, ICICI Securities has a large customer account base of 1.5 million as well as a pan-India distribution network with over 300 centres across 285 locations and 950 sub-brokers. Since inception, ICICI Securities has handled over 425 Capital Market transactions delivering superior issue execution consistently.
ICICI Securities' institutional equities business offers equity broking services in the cash and derivatives segments to institutional clients both in India and abroad. The derivatives desk offers services from set-up to trading strategy and is supported by a strong research team, which tracks various sectors of the Indian economy.
