Govt employee and six CPI(M) supporters arrested in Tripura
Agartala, Apr 4 (UNI) Tripura Police have arrested a government employee on corruption charges in North Tripura and six other CPI (M) supporters for rioting during the post-election days in West Tripura.
Police today said one Lalnghakliana Darlong, UD Clerk of Sub-Registry office, Kailashahar, misappropriated public funds amounting to more than Rs five Lakh, which had been sanctioned in various development schemes.
Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kailashahar, had conducted an enquiry into the allegation of misappropriation of funds and found him guilty and subsequently, Darlong was arrested.
Meanwhile, Sidhai Police in West Tripura have arrested six CPI(M) supporters, following allegations of carrying arms, rioting and voluntarily causing harm in public life.
