Squalls and hail likely in Kolkata and adjoining areas
Kolkata, Apr 03 (UNI) The Alipore Met office today predicted respite from the heat for the citizens with thunder showers likely to occur in the city and its suburbs during the next 24 hours.
The Met officials also stated that squalls having speed of 50-60 km per hour, accompanied by hail, were likely to hit the city and its adjoining areas in the late evening or at night with moderate to light rainfall in some areas.
The Alipore Met office recorded the day's maximum temperature at 34.7 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal while the minimum was 25.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.
The maximum temperature over the next 24 hours was likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.
