CPI(ML) Red Flag suffers another split
Kozhikode, Apr 3 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist- Leninist) Red Flag, one of the splinter group among ML parties in Kerala, today suffered yet another split following formation of a separate outfit in the same name by a dissident group in the state.
In a meeting here, the group elected an 11-member state committee, headed by leader K T Kunhikannan as new Secretary.
Talking to newspersons after the meeting, Mr Kunhikannan said the party would convene a convention here on April 18 to chalk out its future course of action.
Earlier, at a press conference, Party State Secretary P C Unnichekken said State Committee Members K T Kunhikannan, K K Mammu and M Sivasankaran were ousted for their attempt to align with the CPI(M) against the party policy.
Claiming that majority of the party, which had bases in Kozhikode, Thrissur and Ernakulam districts, were with them, he said the decision to oust them was taken at the state committee meeting held at Perumbavoor yesterday.
