UPEC issues notification for 11 council seats
Lucknow, Apr 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Election Commission (UPEC) today issued notification for 11 seats of council, which are going to fall vacant on May 6.
These include six seats from graduate constituency and five from teachers constituency.
UP Chief Election Commisioner A K Vishnoi told here that six graduate constituency seats are Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad-Jhansi, Agra and Meerut and five teachers constituencies are Bareilly, Moradabad, Lucknow, Gorakhpur-Faizabad, Varanasi and Agra.
One candidate from each constituency would be elected for the legislative council.
April 9 is the last date for filing nomination, whereas, scruitny of the nomination papers will be conducted on April 10 and April 12 is the last date for withdrawl of the nomination papers.
If necessary, voting shall take place on April 28, he added.
