Two killed in major fire in Guwahati

Guwahati, Apr 2 (UNI) At least two persons were burnt alive and more than 300 thatched houses razed in a devastating fire in Bhootnath area of Guwahati after midnight last night.

The fire broke out in a slum dwelling in the area at about 12 midnight and all the 300 thatched houses in the area were completely gutted.

At least two persons were reported to have been killed in the fire, while several others sustained injuries.

Fire tenders had a difficult time in dousing the fire as the area has no proper co0mmunication network.
