Thunder shower warning issued in Kolkata and adjoining areas
Kolkata, Apr 2 (UNI) Thunder showers accompanied by squalls with speeds ranging from 50-60 km per hour are likely to hit the city and its adjoining areas in the late evening or at night.
Met officials said here today that an alert had been sounded throughout Kolkata and its sorrounding areas, especially at the Dakshineshwar area, in the northern fringes of the city.
Moderate to light rainfall was likely to occur over isolated parts of the city during the next 24 hours, the officials added.
The Alipore Met office recorded the day's maximum temperature at 32.1 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal while the minimum was 24.6 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
The maximum temperature over the next 24 hours was likely to hover around 36 degrees Celsius.
