Speaker directs minister to be careful in compiling replies

Guwahati, Apr 2 (UNI) Assam Assembly Speaker TB Rai today issued strictures to Fishery department Minister Nurjamal Sarkar to ensure that specific replies were furnished to questions in the House after Independent legislator Mohibul Haque pointed to ambiguity and wrong information provided.

Mr Haque had brought a question during Question Hour on the steps being taken to increase fish production in Gauripur constituency, but the minister provided the data for Dhubri.

In reply to another portion of the same question, the minister informed that fishery development projects were being taken up under NREGA, with Mr Haque pointing that the district was included in NREGA only from this month.

The Speaker asked the minister to ensure that proper information is provided in the House and that more care was taken in compiling replies to be placed in the Assembly.
