Rs 6.40 crore for creating Integrated Beach Circuit in K'taka
Malpe, Udupi, Apr 2 (UNI) Karnataka Tourism Department Director C Somasekhara today said the Centre had sanctioned Rs 6.40 crore for creating an Integrated Beach Circuit, covering eight regions along the Karnataka coast.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the Centre had also sanctioned Rs 3.5 crore for the development of eco-tourism and adventure tourism in the state.
The department had already submitted a plan to the Centre for creating a tourism circuit, covering Bidar, Gulburga and Bijapur.
He said the number of tourists visiting Mysore Palace had touched a whopping figure of 25.8 lakh.
'' More foreign and domestic tourists are attracted to the beach fronts of Karnataka,'' he added.
