Pakistan Army General drops Musharraf ally as intelligence chief
Islamabad, Apr 2 : Pakistan Army General Ashfaq Kayani on Wednesday dropped a key ally of President Pervez Musharraf from the Military Intelligence (MI) chief's post.
Kayani appointed Major General Mohammad Asif to take over as head of the Military Intelligence (MI) from Major General Nadeem Ejaz.
"Major General Mohammad Asif has been appointed director general Military Intelligence today, replacing Major General Nadeem Ejaz," chief military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas told a foreign news agency.
